Welcome…

Welcome to Geoff’s website: a guide to his music and to the writers and infuences which inspire many of his compositions.

Geoff has been involved in music education for all his working life, and has conducted choirs and bands on television and radio broadcasts and on tour in this country and abroad.

His music is published by Kevin Mayhew Publishers; his vocal and choral music reflect his love of language and of working with beautiful and inspiring texts.

Geoff’s published music encompasses songs, music for organ, anthems, song arrangements, hymn settings, psalm settings, carols, descants and music for school assemblies.

A series of CDs of his compositions is being released; this music is ‘in the rich tradition of Taizé and Lindisfarne’ and is increasingly being used in churches and retreat centres such as the Community of Aidan and Hilda on Lindisfarne as an aid to meditation and contemplation.

There are three albums in the 'Heavenly' series: Heavenly Light, Heavenly Peace and Heavenly Love.

Lovely Celtic writings and prayers, texts and poems by such inspiring writers as John Philip Newell and David Adam, specially written texts by Sean Bowman, friend and mentor, words from the psalms and from the great heritage of English hymn writers; all of these have infuenced and shaped Geoff’s music. He has also set some of his own texts for some of the songs and chants on the CDs.

Music for the Soul, a compilation CD of Geoff’s finest pieces from his first four albums, is now available, as is Incoming Tide, the latest CD, which has a definite Celtic flavour and has a mixture of vocal and instrumental tracks.
